If you’re looking for an MX-5 you will already know it’s had quite a few special editions in its past, not as many as Lotus in recent times but still more than I can remember. But this one does stand out, not only because of its rather bright exterior, but more to the fact Mazda have made an award winning, fantastic Roadster, even better than before! The MX5 already holds awards from “Auto Express – Britain’s best affordable drivers car”, “Whatcar – Car of the year for sub £30,000 sports car”, and “Carbuyers – Best sports car” to name but a few.
The tweaks made from standard on this car besides what’s already mentioned above are Unique number plaque, 17” Forged Wheels, Stiffened Sports Suspension Springs, Uprated Bilstein Dampers and an Under-bonnet Strut Brace. Powered by a free revving naturally aspirated 2.0L engine this model boasts a healthy 181bhp at 7,000 rpm meaning 62mph is dealt with in 6.5 seconds and top speed is a nice 136mph.
Although 3,000 cars were made worldwide only 550 came to the UK, 370 roadsters and 180 rf models, all of which all sold straight away.
